The Rule of Thirds _ with Annor Doeman _ Annor M. Doeman Productions Film and Music School
The Rule of Thirds is a grid that you use (imaginary) to divide your canvas, or view finder, or screen into three equal portions ( like a Tic Tac Toe grid ) to make your composition aesthetically pleasing ( More interesting to look at or pleasing to the eye).
You will want to place your subject's eye as close to one of the intersecting lines of the Tic-Tac-Toe grid (imaginary grid you imagine being placed over your screen or view finder) as you can.
Placing the subject along the lines works as well.
Try to avoid placing your subject in the center of the screen or canvas - a bit off to the side is more pleasing to the eye.
